Women’s Lacrosse Hammers Hollins

Roanoke, Va. – The Oberlin College women's lacrosse team scored early and often as they cruised past Hollins College 19-5 on Monday afternoon in Roanoke, Virginia.

The sophomore tandem of Molly Bloom and Grace Amber scored five goals each to guide the Yeowomen attack. Amber also added three assists to finish with eight total points. Classmate Ilyssa Meyer added four scores and three helpers of her own in the win.

Oberlin (3-1) scored the first five goals of the game and never looked back as they went into locker room with a 12-2 cushion at the break.

Junior Alice Zicht, who had a career-high 10 draw controls, found the back of the cage three times in the victory, while the first-year pairing of Sarah Andrews and Phoebe Hammer each scored their first collegiate goals.

Oberlin out-shot Hollins 33-13 and won 19 of the game's 26 draw controls. OC also had a slight 26-24 edge in groundballs.

The Yeowomen return to action tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. when they take on Shenandoah.
