#23 Tartans Blank Hampden-Sydney

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked 23rd nationally, continued its spring trip in Orlando, Florida on Sunday with a 9-0 blanking of Hampden-Sydney College. The Tartans evened their record at 3-3 with the Tigers moving to 2-4.

Singles Play:

  • The Tartans won all six singes matches in straight sets.
  • The first point came from Nottingham at five with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking.
  • Wernink then won at the second spot 6-0, 6-1 followed by Joshi at six by the identical scores.
  • Poh played at four and collected the next point winning 6-1, 6-0.
  • The final two points of the match came from senior Raahil Doshi and sophomore William Wang who on at first and three singles, respectively. Doshi won 6-2, 6-3 and Wang 6-1, 6-1.
