The Lead: The Roanoke College women played host to Bridgewater in their 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) debut. Nine straight Maroon scores would leave no doubt as Roanoke cruised to the 18-6, ODAC win on Wednesday night.  

How it Happened:

  • The Maroons would take just over a minute to net the first goal of the night when Lilly Blair scored off an assist by Tiernan Connor.
  • After scoring off a feed from Molly Kasemeyer, Ellie Armstrong converted a pair of free position shots for three straight goals.
  • Blair returned the favor setting up Connor to make it 5-0.
  • Emerson Foster added to the lead before Connor added her second and third goals of the night and at the 18 minute mark, Blair made it a 9-0 start for RC.
  • Bridgewater would score to stop the run but Roanoke added three more scores over a five minute stretch.
  • In the final four minutes of the first half, Jenna Kuczo scored an unassisted goal and Foster converted a free position to make it 14-2 at the break.
  • Morgan Saylor scored a pair of second half goals while Foster and Armstrong added to their game totals.
  • Bridgewater would match the Maroons four second half scores but the game was never in doubt as RC picked up their first ODAC win of the season.
  • Carly Schoudel played the first half in goal, recording one save. Kyleigh Chickering went the second 30 minutes and made three stops.
  • Armstrong finished with five goals and an assist while Blair, Connor, and foster each added three scores.

Up Next: Roanoke will play host to Mary Washington on Saturday evening in a non-conference game that is scheduled to start at 5:30pm.
