How It Happened
- The two teams battled through a scoreless first half that saw E&H sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Capone (Kannapolis, N.C.) turn away six shots.
- Virginia Wesleyan broke through just 89 seconds into the second period as Olivia Bryant scored on a pass from Mia Meinhardt.
- The Marlins added an insurance goal in the 81st minute when Julia Marrone found the back of the net.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Capone finished the match with 10 saves, adding four stops in the second 45 minutes.
- Freshman forward Adrienne Harris (Hillsville, Va.) had the Wasps' lone shot on goal of the afternoon.

Virginia Wesleyan Individual Leaders
- Mary Alexis Jackson led VWU with six shots, putting three of her attempts on frame.
- Marrone scored her goal on a total of three changes while Bryant was efficient, scoring on her only shot.
- Ashleigh Lockard picked up the clean sheet in goal for the Marlins, tallying one save.
