Randolph Men’s Basketball Defeats Emory & Henry, 91-73, Saturday In ODAC Action

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College Men's Basketball Team (7-11, 3-6 ODAC) opened up a 17-point halftime lead on its way to a 91-73 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win over visiting Emory & Henry College (4-14, 1-8 ODAC) Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The two squads traded baskets to an 8-all tie at the 13:17 mark of the opening half. Randolph then went on a 14-4 run to take a 22-12 advantage. A 13-3 run for the WildCats to close the frame made the score 51-34.
- In the second period, Emory & Henry and Randolph were evenly matched. The Wildcats extended their margin to 23 (81-58) with 5:33 to play, but the Wasps scored nine of the next 11 points to trim the margin back to 83-67.
- E&H and Randolph again went nearly point-for-point through the end of the game for the 91-73 margin.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman guard Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.) had a team-high 14 points off the bench as he went 11-for-12 at the free throw line.
- Sophomore guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) had 13 points while senior guard Colin Molden (Apex, N.C.) and freshman forward Dylan Catron (Chilhowie, Va.) added 12 points and five rebounds each.

Randolph Individual Leaders
- Justin Dula led all players with 19 points, adding seven rebounds and three assists while Evan Makle had 18 points and seven boards in the contest.
- A.J. Marshall scored 11 points and six rebounds off the bench while Brian Smith tacked on 10 points and four assists.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 35.7 percent (20-for-56) from the field, making 10 three-pointers for a fourth game in a row. The Wasps went 23-for-27 (85.2%) at the free throw line.
- Randolph converted 33-of-72 (45.8%) of its attempts, also making 10 from long range.
- The WildCats held a 45-32 rebounding advantage and outscored the Wasps, 20-4, on second-chance points.  Randolph also led, 40-18, on points in the paint.
