No. 3 Randolph-Macon Men’s Basketball Beats Emory & Henry, 79-54, Saturday Afternoon

ASHLAND, Va. – The No. 3 Randolph-Macon College Men's Basketball Team (19-1, 11-0 ODAC) remained atop the Old Dominion Athletic Conference standings as it used a strong second half to pull away from Emory & Henry College (4-16, 1-10 ODAC) Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- Emory & Henry scored the first nine points of the game on its way to an 11-3 lead at the 15:59 mark of the first half. The Yellow Jackets scored eight in a row to tie the contest at 11, as the squads traded baskets for much of the opening 20 minutes.
- Down 27-22 with 2:36 to play before the half, RMC scored 10 in a row to take a 32-27 lead into the locker room.
- In the second, the Yellow Jackets continued their run from the final minutes of the first to push their margin out to 48-30 with 14:35 to play. Randolph-Macon went up by 20 for the first time with 9:05 left on the clock as it claimed the 79-54 win.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior guard Colin Molden (Apex, N.C.) posted a game-high 21 points, adding five steals and three rebounds while sophomore guard Anthony Williams (Lynchburg, Va.) had 13 points and nine boards.
- Sophomore guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) put up nine points and three rebounds.

Randolph-Macon Individual Leaders
- Josh Talbert went for 16 points and seven steals off the bench while Corey Bays scored 13 points.
- Ian Robertson notched 10 points, eight boards and two assists while Buzz Anthony had nine points and five assists.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 19-for-48 (39.6%) for the game but was effective at the line, hitting 85.7 percent (12-of-14) of its free throws.
- Randolph-Macon shot 42.4 percent (28-for-66) with 10 makes from long range. The Yellow Jackets went 13-for-16 (81.3%) at the charity stripe.
- RMC held a 33-18 lead on points off turnovers, taking advantage of 27 E&H miscues.
- The Yellow Jackets also outscored the Wasps, 34-28, in the paint.
