The Lead: Roanoke swept all three doubles matches en route to a 6-3 ODAC win over Bridgewater on Tuesday afternoon.
How it Happened
- Roanoke grabbed an early lead when Hunter Adams and Michael Morrell turned back Bridgewater's Robert Williard and Leyton Pullin, 8-5, to take the point at No. 3 doubles.
- Thomas Hodges and Grayson White added the point at No. 2 doubles with an 8-2 victory over BC's Sonet Gandhi and Nick Kiser.
- The Maroons added an important point at No. 1 doubles where Jack Fishwick and Jack Doriss outlasted the Eagles' Canon Secord and Matthew Gordon 8-7. The Roanoke duo won the tiebreaker 7-4.
- The two teams split the singles matches. Morell and Doriss won their matches to clinch the team win. Morrell stopped Williard 6-0, 6-3 to win at No. 5 singles and Doriss defeated Gandhi 6-3, 6-3 to win at the No. 3 slot. Roanoke picked up its final point when White edged Gordon 6-3, 6-4 to take the point at No. 2.
