The Lead: Roanoke traveled to Emory & Henry for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) double header on Tuesday afternoon. The two ODAC rivals came into the matchup with undefeated conference records. The Maroons got a run in the top of the sixth and then exploded for four in the seventh for a 5-0 win in game one. Game two would see the Maroons race out to a 4-1 lead. However, the Wasps would score four unanswered runs to earn a split with Roanoke, 5-4.

  • Roanoke would add four insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Brooke Trapuzzano singled home Rebecca Hensley and Meri Bostic. Trapuzzano would score on a Hester double with Sirbaugh driving in Hester for the 5-0 lead.
  • Karnes would close the door picking up her seventh win of the season. The Wasps managed just three hits and Karnes recorded six strikeouts without giving up a single base on balls.
