NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Sophomore Josh Pittman matched his career high with 34 points in Guilford College's 88-73 basketball win at Manchester College Wednesday night.

The win wrapped up the Quakers' (6-5) five-game road swing that included stops in Virginia, Tennessee and Indiana. It also snapped Guilford's first three-game losing skid since 2006.

Pittman knocked down eight-of-15 three-point baskets and led all scorers in the game. He made six-of-nine from beyond the arc on the way to 18 first-half points. Teammate Gabriel Lowder knocked down 13 of his career-high 15 points in the opening frame, which helped the Quakers to a 50-35 halftime lead. Despite a nine-day layoff and a 10-hour bus trip to Indiana, Guilford shot better than 61 percent from the floor in the first half and 50 percent for the game.

Pittman's seventh three of the night opened the second-half scoring and gave Guilford a 53-35 edge, but the host Spartans (6-3) rallied to within seven points. Tyler Delauder's two free throws capped a 16-6 Manchester run and made it a 61-54 contest with 9:28 to play. The hosts drew no closer as Guilford outscored the Spartans, 16-9, in the game's final five minutes.

Guilford's Tobi Akinsola added 16 points on five-of-six field-goal shooting and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. T.C. Anderson had seven boards and a game-high four assists for the Quakers.

Jason Spindler paced four Spartans in double-figures with 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Delauder and Nick Schafer both scored 14 points apiece.

Guilford returns home to host St. Mary's College of Maryland Monday (1/3) at 7:00 p.m. The Seahawks are ranked 13th in the most recent D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.
