Softball Sweeps Crucial Non-Conference DH at Guilford

Greensboro, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan softball program swept Guilford in a non-conference DH on Wednesday by the scores of 6-1 and 9-1 respectively. In game one, Mary Katherine Raynor and Moe Byerly had big games at the plate both recording multiple hits with Raynor accounting for three of the six RBI's for Wesleyan. Savannah Thompson also recorded a hit in the first contest and accounted for two Bishop RBI's. On the mound, Emily Humphery took advantage of three first-inning runs and was lights out. Humphery tossed seven innings and only gave up four hits and a run during her terrific outing.

In game two, the Lady Bishops picked up where they left off. Moe Byerly showed out in game two recording three hits and getting two RBI's to her credit. Makayla Simmons also recorded three RBI's for Wesleyan with two hits. The two more impressive performances you will see on a diamond came from Mary Katherine Raynor. She recorded four of the nine RBI's in the second game. The Bishops scored in each inning from the 5th on and scored eight of the game's last nine runs.

The Lady Bishops improve to 15-8 on the season and will travel to Salem on Sunday.
