Greensboro Opens With 81-57 Win Over Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Danielle Duncan scored 30 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Greensboro College's 81-57 basketball win over Guilford College Monday night in the Greensboro Coliseum. The contest marked the season opener for both teams.

Duncan netted 20 points and grabbed six boards in the second half. She had nine points in Greensboro's 15-6 run to start the second half, which opened a 48-34 edge. The Quakers drew no closer than 13 points for the rest of the game.

Bianca Richburg added 15 points and nine rebounds for Greensboro. Nikki Wilborn also scored in double digits with 10 points and added three assists.

The Pride forced Guilford into 24 turnovers, which led to 18 Greensboro points. Chevena Pickard made five thefts and finished with nine points off the bench on nine-of-10 free-throw shooting. The Pride also enjoyed a 48-39 rebounding edge, thanks to a game-high 10 boards by Jada Alvarado.

Guilford's Jazlyn Gibbs scored a team-high 23 points for the Quakers.
