The Lead: After falling to Shenandoah last week in their regular season finale, 4-5, Roanoke would travel to face the Hornets in the first round of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Tennis Tournament. The Maroons would turn the tables on Shenandoah to advance in the tournament with the 5-4 victory.

Women's Highlights:

• The #1 doubles team of Lucy Collins and Halle Fernstrum picked up an 8-4 win and Roanoke made it 2-1 when the duo of Margriet Bostoen and Olivia Maccluen posted an 8-5 victory.
• Fernstrum won 6-3 and 6-0 at #2 singles and Sophie Bartholomaus earned another point by winning (6-0 and 6-2) at the #5 position.
• The match would come down to a three set battle at #3. Bostoen won the first set, 6-4, but would fall to Madison Hansen, 6-1, in the second set. With the win on the line, Bostoen would re-rally to take the third set by the score of 6-2, advancing the Maroons to the quarterfinal round.

Up next: Roanoke will travel to #1 seed Washington and Lee in the quarterfinals of the 2021 ODAC Women's Tennis Tournament.
