Women's Lacrosse Losses Battle with Royals

Harrisonburg, Va. – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team traveled south to Virginia for a non-conference contest against Eastern Mennonite University Wednesday afternoon. The Bison fell to the Royals, 15-10. Rikiah Wise had a career high five goals for the Green and White.

GAME OVERVIEW

It was a high scoring offensive game between the Royals and Bison. Eastern Mennonite took a 4-0 lead before Bethany could find the back of the net. Ayana Crawford got the Bison on the board with a goal at the 16:11 mark. The Green and White cut the lead in half when Lindsey Cornish was able to find the back of the net off of an Elizabeth Poletis pass. To close out the first half, Rikiah Wise score three of her five goals to bring the Bison within three, 8-5.

The second half continued to be in the Royals favor when they extended their lead 10-5. The Bison were within two goals after Crawford, Wise, and Cornish each scored. Eastern Mennonite didn't let those goals affect them as they built on the lead. Bethany's Wise and Cornish each scored one more time in the second half, with the Bison falling short, 15-10.
