GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Martin Stephenson (Cary, N.C./Cary) scored a career- and game-high 19 points in Guilford College's 69-54 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over visiting Lynchburg College Saturday afternoon.

Josh Pittman (Archdale, N.C./Trinity) added 17 points as the Quakers (9-5, 3-2 ODAC) won for the fourth straight game and notched their 12th straight victory over Lynchburg (5-9, 1-5 ODAC).

The Hornets rallied from five down and took a 33-29 halftime lead. Robby Kaiser's (East Stroudsburg. Pa./East Stroudsburg) free-throw opened the second-half scoring and gave the guests their largest advantage, 34-29. Lynchburg's offense stalled however, as Guilford reeled off 18 of the game's next 22 points to take a 47-38 with 11:13 remaining in the game. Pittman and Stephenson combined for 10 points during the decisive run, which saw Lynchburg make just two of 12 shots from the floor.

A Michael Glover (Verona, Va./Spotswood) three-pointer followed by a Tucker Lucas (Herndon, Va./Herndon) lay-in made it a 47-43 game, but the Quakers scored 17 unanswered points to put the game out of reach. Gabriel Lowder (Yadkinville, N.C./North Forsyth) knocked down back-to-back three-pointers and Stephenson had five points in the spurt.

Stephenson, whose previous career high was 14 points, made nine-of-10 shots from the floor, including his first five. Teammate Tobi Akinsola (Cary, N.C./Word of God Christian (Bethany)) added eight points and eight rebounds. Travis Tracy (Spartanburg, S.C./Spartanburg Day) contributed seven points and a career-high eight rebounds. The Quakers enjoyed a 40-28 rebounding edge, including 13 offensive boards that led to 14 second-chance points.

Glover shot four-of-seven from beyond the arc and scored 14 points to lead Lynchburg. Nate Campbell (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe) scored 10 points for the Hornets, who missed 6-7 sophomore center Austin Chillemi (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) due to an injury. Chillemi, a starter, averages over 11 points and seven rebounds per game.

Guilford wraps up a four-game homestand Wednesday (1/12) against league-rival Bridgewater College at 7:00 p.m.
