Emory & Henry Men's Tennis Defeats Johnson, 8-1, Thursday Afternoon

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (3-5) picked up an 8-1 win over visiting Johnson University (1-5) Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.

How It Happened
E&H jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the match through doubles. Junior Archer Marlow (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and freshman Sean Given (Cary, N.C.) won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles while senior Bryce Williams (Bristol, Tenn.) and junior Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Va.) also claimed an 8-1 win at No. 2.

During the singles portion of the match, McGuire tallied a 6-0, 6-0 win at the featured singles pairing while Marlow won - 6-2, 6-0 - at No. 2 singles. Williams grabbed a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 as well.
