The Lead: Roanoke played host to Ferrum on Tuesday night. On the Maroon's 11th shot of the first half, they finally found the back of the net and took the 1-0 advantage into the break. In a five-minute stretch of the second half, Roanoke was able to add a pair of scores to their lead and picked up the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Ferrum, 3-0.

Highlights:

  • Roanoke would control much of the action in the Panther's zone, accumulating a 12-2 shot advantage.
  • With just over 10 minutes left in the first half, Cameron Shackford took a headed pass from Emma Woods and found an open Morgan O'Neill for the first goal of the evening.
  • At the 58-minute mark, Shackford added a goal of her own to make it a 2-0, RC lead.
  • Five minutes later, the Maroons put it out of reach as Shackford picked up her second helper of the night on a feed to MC Petrucelli for the final of 3-0.
  • In goal, Carrington Lippi got the start and recorded a pair of saves before being relieved by Victoria Correll for the final six and a half minutes.

Up next: Roanoke is scheduled to wrap up the home portion of their regular season slate when they host Sweet briar on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm.
