The 21st ranked University of Mary Washington men's soccer team drew a 1-1 tie with Roanoke College at the Battleground. The Eagles move to 3-1-1 on the season.

The Maroons opened the scoring off a corner kick at 23:20, but the Eagles tied the score at 38:42 on a goal from Will Thompson (Arlington, Va. / Gonzaga), coming on an assist from freshman Carter Berg (Reston, Va. / South Lakes).

The teams then battled through a scoreless second half and two overtimes with neither team finding the net. The Maroons had several chances that were saved by UMW goalkeeper Ken Kurtz (Katonah, N.Y. / Somers), and the Eagles had several shots sail just wide off frame, and another off the crossbar.

Mary Washington will be back in action on Wednesday when the Eagles host the University of Lynchburg at 4:00 p.m.
