The Lead: Roanoke started the 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Softball Tournament as the #4 seed. The Maroons would take on #5 Bridgewater in their opener. The Maroons sent two across the plate, but in the bottom half, Lynchburg scored and had loaded the bases. The Maroons registered a strikeout and a ground ball to end the threat and win the game, 3-2.

Highlights:

  • Kate Houle reached on an error to start the second inning. Makayla Austin dropped a sacrifice bunt to advance Houle and reached on a throwing error to make it first and third with no outs. Rachel Sirbaugh delivered the game's lone run on a sacrifice fly to right field.
  • Jada Karnes took the lead and would only allow one base runner as she notched her 19th win of the season with a seven inning, no-hit, shutout. Karnes allowed just the one walk while recording four strikeouts.
