The Lead: Emory & Henry rallied past Roanoke 78-77 Wednesday evening in ODAC Men's Basketball action.
How it Happened:
- Roanoke jumped out to a 17-1 lead following a Caleb Jordan three-point play four minutes into the game.
- A pair of Tripp Greene free-throws with nine minutes to play extended the RC lead to 22 points at 33-11.
- With RC leading 40-23, Emory & Henry would close the final 4:21 of the half with a 10-5 spurt that sent the teams to the locker room with the Maroons leading 45-33.
- The Wasps came out in the second-half and opened with an 18-6 run, tying the game at 51 on a basket by Malcom Morgan with 13:28 to play in the game.
- The game was tied 68 with 4:24 to play when Colin Molden drained a three-pointer to give E&H a three-point lead.
- RC scored four straight points, pushing ahead 72-71 on a Greene bucket with 1:13 left on the clock.
- On Emory & Henry's ensuing possession, Dylan Catron knocked down a three-pointer to put the Wasps on top 74-72 with 49 seconds to play.
- Roanoke turned the ball over on the other end of the court and Molden would convert two free-throws for the Wasps to make it a 76-72 game.
- Jordan would make two free-throws with 10 seconds left to make it a two-point game but Molden converted two chances from the charity stripe for E&H with nine seconds to go to seal the game.
- Kasey Draper finished with 19 points and nine rebounds for RC. Greene had 16 points and Jordan had 15 for the Maroons.
- Molden matched Draper with 19 points. Catron had 12 points, while Micah Banks, Anthony Williams and Jacob Martin each had 10.
