How it Happened

  • A low-scoring first-half saw the game tied at 13-13 after Kasey Draper knocked down a three-pointer with 10:31 to go.
  • R-MC scored eight of the next 11 points, taking a 21-16 lead on a Buzz Anthony bucket with 2:15 to go in the half.
  • The Yellow Jackets led 23-20 at halftime before Draper drained a three-pointer to open the second stanza and tie up the game.
  • Macon responded with a 20-6 run, pushing ahead 43-29 with 6:50 to play in the game.
  • RC was able to chip away and cut the R-MC lead to 43-34 on Tripp Greene basket at the 5:59 mark.
  • That would be as close as RC would get as the Yellow Jackets scored six straight points to go ahead 49-34 with 3:33 left to play.
  • Roanoke was paced by Draper who had 14 points and Efosa Edosomwan who had 10. Greene finished with eight points while Ethan Rohan grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for the Maroons.
  • Anthony had a game-high 15 points for R-MC. David Funderburg had 13 points and Ian Roberstson chipped in with 11. Miles Mallory grabbed 15 rebounds to go along with six blocks.
  • RC shot 29.4% from the floor, making 15-of-51 shots on the day. R-MC made 19-of-49 (38.8%) attempts from the field.
