UMW Baseball Falls to Randolph-Macon, 7-2, on Tuesday

The University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a 7-2 decision to Randolph-Macon College on Tuesday at V. Earl Dickinson Stadium. UMW slips to 7-5 on the season.

Randolph-Macon opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the second inning, and added one in the fifth and three in the sixth. The Eagles got one back in the bottom of the sixth, as Burke Steifman walked and scored on a Bobby Ayscue double. 

In the seventh, Owen Reilly doubled and Steifman singled him home to draw the Eagles to within 6-2. RMC added one in the ninth for the 7-2 final.

Sophomore Justin Ritz took the loss for the Eagles, allowing three earned runs on four hits in five innings, walking one and striking out seven.

UMW will return to action on Thursday when they host Mary Baldwin at 3:00 p.m.
