HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a scoreless first period, Bridgewater scored an unassisted goal at 21:40 when Emily Tyler took a deflection of a Maroon and put it into the cage for a 1-0 lead.
  • Saige Bullock answered back for the Maroons right before the end of the first half taking a deflected shot of her own and hit it passed the goalie to tie the score at 1-1 with just 2:06 before halftime.
  • Bullock then scored the game-winner in the third period off a shot deflection from Grace Vernarelli at 40:31, from right to left, in front of the goal, putting the Maroons ahead 2-1.
  • Much like the first quarter, neither team was able to score in the final 15 minutes with the Roanoke defense holding strong for the win.
