The Lead: For the final time this regular season, the Roanoke College men's lacrosse team took the field when they made the trip to Lynchburg to face Randolph College. It was the final tune up before the start of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament and Roanoke wasted no time in racing out to a big first half lead on their way to a 30-0 win in their regular season finale.

How it Happened:

  • Owen Curry got the scoring started less than two minutes into the matchup.
  • The first quarter would see 11 Maroon goals, two each by Curry, Wyatt Whitlow, Luca Docking, and Quinn Evans.
  • Roanoke would continue to grow their advantage during a second period that would see 12 more scores and a 23-0 halftime lead.
  • Evans scored two more times with Matt Hemmert adding three goals.
  • Roanoke took their foot off the gas a bit in the second half as they cruised to a 30-0 win over the Cats.
  • Evans had five goals with Hemmert scoring four, while Whitlow, Docking, and Hutton Murdoch added three goals apiece. Docking handed out five of the Maroon's 14 assists.
  • Austin Gambino was 22-26 in the faceoff circle and picked up 16 ground balls while John Dias and Docking each caused three turnovers.
  • Taylor Lewis got the start in goal before being relieved by Dan Cain. The duo recorded two saves while combining for the 60 minute shutout.

Up Next: Roanoke will go into the ODAC Tournament as the #4 seed and host Bridgewater on Tuesday, May 4th.
