The Lead: The Roanoke College women's tennis team played host to Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday morning. The match was moved up three hours to try to beat the rain. Roanoke would win one of the three doubles matches but couldn't carry that momentum into singles play, with the Marlins taking all six matchups for the 8-1 win.
Highlights:
- Margriet Bostoen and Sophie Bartholomaus won at #3 doubles with an 8-4 win over the team of Shannon Lewis and Sophia Bibbo.
- At #3 singles, Halle Fernstrum fell in a hard fought match, 6-4 and 6-2 to Audrey Bally.
Up next: Roanoke College is scheduled to be back in action tomorrow against Randolph-Macon at 2:00pm.
