WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Randolph tennis team completed its season sweep of Salem with a 9-0 victory at the Bert Lain Tennis Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Saturday afternoon.

Randolph, which earned its first victory over the Spirits in the fall portion of the slate, is now 2-0 in head-to-head meetings with the Spirits. The WildCats opened Saturday's match with a victory in No. 3 doubles, as Cassidy Bell and Noura Elkhansa posted an 8-1 victory over the tandem of Alyson Gammons and Jasmine Scott. The second point came by virtue of a No. 1 doubles win by Valentina Santos and Jenna Fink, who defeated Emily Griffis and Alana Bridges by a score of 8-3.

Randolph put its third point of the match on the board as Harper Whetzel and Sabrina Dickerson downed Cadence Durham and Ashley Linden in No. 2 doubles.

Singles play began with Randolph claiming its fourth point from the fifth-seeded spot of Elkhansa took down Linden by scores of 6-3, 6-0. That was followed by the team-clinching fifth point, which came as Bell posted a 6-2, 6-1 win against Scott in No. 6 action.

The seventh Randolph point came in a clash of No. 2 singles as Dickerson posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Griffis, and that was quickly followed by a 6-1, 6-2 victory in No. 1 action where Santos defeated Durham. Whetzel picked up the ninth point for the WildCats at No. 3, rallying from a first set loss to earn a 1-6, 6-3, 10-6 win over Bridges.
