The Lead: Roanoke made the mid-week trip to face the defending Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Champions from Bridgewater on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles scored in the opening minutes to take an early advantage. After another Bridgewater score pushed the lead to two, Roanoke answered and trailed by one goal with 25 minutes remaining. However, the Eagles netted an insurance score for the 3-1 final.

Highlights:

  • Just over two-minutes into the match, BC got the scoring started.
  • The first 45 minutes would see the home team enjoy a 13-3 shot edge but Roanoke was able to keep it a 1-0 deficit heading into the break thanks in part to three Carrington Lippi saves.
  • Eight minutes into the second half, the Eagles made it a 2-0 lead with a Hannah Randolph score.
  • 12 minutes later, RC pulled to within a single goal on a Sasha Clinnin score to cut the deficit in half.
  • The Eagles would get another Randolph goal with 20 minutes remaining on the clock and held on for the 3-1 ODAC win.
  • Lippi finished the afternoon with 10 saves for the Maroons. BC finished with a 27-5 advantage in shots attempted.

Up next: Roanoke are scheduled to wrap up the regular season with a trip to Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon for a 2:00pm start.
