UMW Women's Tennis Improves to 9-2 with 6-3 Win Over Washington & Lee

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated Washington & Lee University, 6-3, on Thursday evening at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center. The Eagles improve to 9-2 on the season, and 8-0 against Division III opponents.

In doubles, UMW took a 2-1 lead, as Abby Moghtader and Lauren Quinn won, 8-4, at one, and Hana Kimmey and Olivia Moore won, 8-2, at three.

Singles saw the Eagles gain quick wins from Moghtader at one, 6-4, 6-1, and Coleman at two, 6-2, 6-0. After the Generals picked up a point, the Eagles clinched the match win a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 win from Kimmey at five, and Quinn won, 7-6, 2-6, 11-9, at three.

The Eagles will be back in action on May 1 when they host Salisbury University at noon.
