Lady Lions Edge Randolph College, 13-11 In Overtime

Maggie McDaniel posted the first goal in overtime and then assisted on the game-winner as the Lady Lions edged Randolph College by the score of 13-11.
Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina - The Piedmont College women's lacrosse team extended their current winning-streak to eight matches this afternoon defeating non-conference foe Randolph College by the score of 13-11 in overtime. In the neutral site affair the Lady Lions used a pair of extra frame goals to edge Randolp marking the first overtime decision in the program's history.

RC jumped out with the first goal of the match before the Lady Lions responded with four goals, two of which came off the stick of Kayla Freund. Randolph would answer with three of the next four goals before Maggie McDaniel posted the final goal of the first frame with only six seconds remaining giving PC the 6-4 advantage.

In the second frame Randolph opened with four of the first five goals to take a slim 8-7 lead. The teams would trade goals before Megan McDowell would find the match-tying goal with just 1:32 remaining in regulation, sending the match into overtime.

In the extra frame McDaniel notched an unassisted goal and then found teammate McDowell for the game-winner.

Alexis Narducci led all scorers with four goals while the tandem of McDaniel and McDowell added five goals and three assists combined. Between the pipes Carly Haraka picked-up the victory posting 13 saves.

Piedmont now stands at 8-0 overall and will return to action again on Wednesday, March 20 as they travel to in-state non-conference Berry College starting at 4:00.
