GREENSBORO, N.C. – Josh Pittman had 23 points and six rebounds, both game highs, in Guilford College's 70-58 Old Dominion Athletic Conference basketball win over Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Emory & Henry College Wednesday night.

Guilford's strong defensive stretch midway through the second half broke open a four-point game. After a Terrance Grigg basket pulled the Wasps (3-9, 0-4 ODAC) to within 37-33, Guilford held Emory & Henry scoreless for five minutes. Pittman capped the 13-0 run with his third and final three-pointer.

Two Grigg two free throws at the 9:57 mark ended the draught, but the damage was done and Guilford eventually took a 21-point lead with 6:42 remaining. Emory & Henry's 18-6 spurt late in the game made it a nine-point game, but the Wasps drew no closer. Grigg had nine points of his 17 second-half points during the run and finished with a team-high 21 markers.

Tobi Akinsola added 15 points for the Quakers (8-5, 2-2 ODAC), who have won three straight.

Guilford hosts league-rival Lynchburg College Saturday (1/8) at 3:00 p.m. Admission is free for all fans at the game and there will be special promotions for children throughout the game.
