The Lead: Roanoke traveled to face Eastern Mennonite for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match on Thursday night. The Maroons out-shot the Royals 35-2 on their way to a 6-0 ODAC victory.
Highlights:
- Less than 15 minutes into the match, Lucy Perry found Eliza Ryan for the first goal of the night.
- Roanoke enjoyed much of the first half in the EMU zone while recording a 15-0 shot advantage, but the Royals defense would keep it a 1-0 score heading into the break.
- The Maroons would begin to find their mark and pull way at the 53 minute mark. Mia Clary scored an unassisted goal to make it 2-0.
- Not even three minutes later, Morgan O'Neill made it 3-0 off a feed from Tessa Walsh.
- Erin Flamm added to the lead when she scored less than two minutes later.
- At the 60 minute mark, Ellie Schad scored the first of two scores in a two minute stretch when she beat the keeper off an assist from MC Petrucelli. Schad would add a second score to make it a 6-0 final.
- Schad led the way with six shots, four on goal, with O'Neill attempting five shots. Petrucelli, Clary, and Delaney Weston would each record four shots.
- Carrington Lippi got the start in net before being relieved by Taylor Gallik for the final 24 minutes. Lippi picked up the win while Gallik registered one save.
Up next: Roanoke has their final regular season road match this Sunday when they travel to Ashland to face Randolph-Macon at 2:00pm.
