MBU Baseballl Loses At Washington And Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Mary Baldwin baseball team traveled to face Washington and Lee University in baseball action Thursday and lost 10-4.

The Squirrels struck early with a run in the first. Noah Kessler and Will Earnesty singled before a base hit by Tyler Morley scored Kessler for a 1-0 lead.

After the Generals went ahead 4-1, MBU sliced the margin to a single run with two runs in the top of the third inning. The Squirrels loaded the bases on three straight singles from Earnesty Morley, and JT Stevenson before Jacob Cude sent a shot through the left side to score Morley and Earnesty, making the score 4-3.

The Generals then took control in the bottom of the third by scoring five runs to put the Squirrels in a 9-3 hole.

The Squirrels scored their final run in the seventh. Earnesty and  Morley both singled and Stevenson scored Earnesty with a single down the right field line.

For the Squirrels, Morley went 4-for-5 on the day and Earnesty went 3-for-5.

MBU will return to action when they travel to face Pfeiffer on Friday, April 28th, at 6:00 p.m. in conference action.
