The Lead: Roanoke College hosted Southern Virginia in advance of opening the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) tournament this Friday. The Maroons took a double digit advantage just six minutes into the matchup and never looked back as they ran their regular season mark to 9-1 with an 89-66 win.

How it Happened:

  • Efosa Edosomwan hit a jumper off the opening tip and a Kasey Draper layup would see Roanoke take control from the get go.
  • Back-to-back three-pointers by Tripp Greene and a Justin Kuthan dunk would highlight the Maroons 20-9 start.
  • Another Greene triple would see the Roanoke lead grow to 16 with just five minutes to play before the break. In the final minute, a SVU three-pointer trimmed the RC advantage to 13 but Draper made it 50-35 at the half.
  • Near the mid-way point of the second half, a Draper three and Greene layup would push the lead to 66-45.
  • Edosomwan made it a 25 point spread with a free throw in the final three minutes as Roanoke would finish the regular season on a nine-game win streak.
  • Draper finished with 28 points and nine boards while Greene would add a season high 21. Kuthan finished with 15 and nine rebounds while Ethan Rohan would grab a game high 10 rebounds with three blocked shots. Trent Dawson recorded six of Roanoke's 23 assists.
  • The Maroons win streak includes a perfect 7-0 in conference play, securing the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Up next: Roanoke will play host to the #8 seeded Wasps of Emory & Henry on Friday night. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 as Roanoke looks for a repeat of the 81-52 win that they posted over E&H back on February 4th.
