Roanoke Men’s Basketball Upends Emory & Henry, 84-55, Wednesday In ODAC Action

SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College Men's Basketball Team (9-4, 3-1 ODAC) shot 51 percent for the game on its way to an 84-55 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (3-10, 0-4 ODAC) Wednesday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game.

How It Happened
- Roanoke opened up a 10-1 lead at the 15:44 mark of the opening half and never looked back on its way to an 11-point lead (33-22) at the intermission.
- In the second half, the Maroons widened their margin, shooting over 50 percent (21-for-51) from the field as they cruised to the 84-55 victory.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman forward Dylan Catron (Chilhowie, Va.) led the Wasps with 17 points, 12 of which came after the break, six rebounds and three blocks.
- Sophomore guard Jake Martin (Wytheville, Va.) scored 13 of his 14 points in the final 20 minutes as well, connecting on 3-of-5 shots from long range.
- Sophomore guard Jordan Grant (Orlando, Fla.) had 10 points while sophomore guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) tallied six points and six boards.

Roanoke Individual Leaders
- Kasey Draper posted a game-high 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting while Tripp Greene added 13 points.
- Caleb Jordan finished with nine points, eight assists, five rebounds and four steals while Efosa Edosomwan went for 11 points and six rebounds off the bench.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry made just 31.7 percent (20-of-63) of its shot and was 4-for-6 (66.7%) from the free throw line while Roanoke connected on 50.8 percent (33-of-65) of its attempts from the floor. The Maroons also made 13-of-19 (68.4%) of their free throws.
- RC held a 43-36 rebounding advantage while they translated into a 21-6 lead on second-chance points and a 50-16 margin on points in the paint.
- The Maroons also led 23-7 on points off turnovers, making the most of 16 Wasp miscues.
