UMW Volleyball Falls at Averett in Five Games on Wednesday Night

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision at Averett University on Wednesday night in Danville, Va. The Eagles slip to 19-6 on the season.

The Cougars claimed the first two games, 25-22 and 25-20, before UMW rebounded to take the next two, 25-19 and 25-22. The fifth game remained close throughout, as the score stood tied at 11-11, but the hosts claimed four of the last six points to claim the win.

Jordan Lyons led the Eagles with 21 kills and 24 digs, while Sarah Moore posted 12 kills and 17 digs. Lauren Foley had 22 assists, and Brenna Campbell added 21. Foley added 19 digs, whille Campbell posted 12.

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday night when they host Randolph College at 6:30 p.m.
