Southern Virginia Volleyball Blanks Emory & Henry, 3-0, Tuesday Night

BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Southern Virginia University Volleyball Team (3-2, 0-0 CAC) picked a 3-0 sweep over visiting Emory & Henry College (1-3, 0-0 ODAC) Tuesday evening in a non-conference matchup. The Knights won the contest by set scores of 25-15, 25-13 and 25-17.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Emory & Henry managed just 16 kills on the evening, led by sophomores Makayla Payne (Bristol, Va.) and Ashley Clayton (Durham, N.C.) with three kills each. Payne finished the night with three blocks as well.
- Freshman setters Marissa Snapp (Greeneville, Tenn.) and Abbie Dillon (Goodview, Va.) had seven and six assists, respectively while sophomores Chelsie Crussell (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Abbie Jennings (Marion, Va.) notched five digs each.

Southern Virginia Individual Leaders
- Kaeley Rath led all players with nine kills while Taryn Warner added eight kills.
- LaRee Crockett dished-out 20 assists while Mykynli Knight had 10 digs. Kylee Christensen posted four kills, seven aces and nine digs.

- Emory & Henry will continue its road swing to open the season on Thursday when it travels to the mountains of Western North Carolina to take on Brevard College. First serve between the Wasps and Tornados is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
