Oles stretch winning streak to five with two wins in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The St. Olaf College women's tennis team pushed its winning streak to five matches with a 5-4 win over DePauw University and a 9-0 victory against Randolph College on Monday at Hilton Head Island Tennis Resort.

St. Olaf (5-2) started the day by edging DePauw (4-10) for its third-straight 5-4 victory before dropping just 10 games in the win over Randolph (4-6). Sophomore Anna Secor provided the clinching point in the win over the Tigers by winning a super tiebreaker, 14-12, after claiming a second-set tiebreaker to extend the match.

The meeting with Randolph was the first head-to-head matchup between the two programs, while the Oles played DePauw for the first time since 1997.

St. Olaf's five-match winning streak is its longest since a run of seven consecutive victories from Feb. 13 to April 9, 2016. The Oles return to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play at Carleton on Wednesday, April 6 at 4:15 p.m.
