Washington and Lee Seeded Eighth in South Region
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The
Washington and Lee baseball team has been assigned to the South
Region in the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament the, which the
NCAA announced on Monday.
Eighth-seeded W&L (22-13) will take on host and top-seeded
Salisbury (37-6) in the first round of the double-elimination
tournament on Wednesday at 1:15 pm at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in
Salisbury, Md. The Generals will be making their first-ever NCAA
appearance, while the Sea Gulls are making their 10th-straight trip
to the tournament and their 15th overall.
Other teams selected to play in the South region include Shenandoah
(28-6), North Carolina Wesleyan (27-19), Christopher Newport
(24-11-2), Washington and Jefferson (33-12), York (Pa.) (27-14) and
Johns Hopkins (24-14).
The regional runs from Wednesday through Sunday with the winners of
each region advancing to the NCAA Finals to be held at Fox Cities
Stadium in Appleton, Wis., on May 22-26.
