  • Walton Named an All-American by ABCA
    May 28, 2011
    Randolph-Macon junior first baseman Jordan Walton (pictured) heads a list of six ODAC award winners from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABC). Walton was tabbed a First Team All-American, and earned a spot on the All-South Region First Team. Five other ODAC players were named to the All-South Second and Third Teams.
  • Wooden, Walton Honored by D3baseball

    Postseason honors came to a pair of ODAC first basemen over the past week. Guilford's Kyle Wooden (pictured) and Randolph-Macon's Jordan Walton were named All-American's by D3baseball.com. Wooden earned a spot on the second team while Walton was tabbed to the third team.
  • JHU Eliminates R-MC from NCAA Play

    The Randolph-Macon baseball team saw its 2011 season come to an end Thursday evening in Lakewood, N.J., as Johns Hopkins downed the Jackets, 8-5, in a Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament elimination game. R-MC had previously been beaten by Kean early in the morning.
  • R-MC Ready for NCAA Baseball Tourney

    Randolph-Macon College will represent the ODAC in the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament, as announced in the NCAA selection show on Monday. The Yellow Jackets earned their place in the NCAA field by winning the ODAC Tournament as the third seed. R-MC took the shortest route to the title, winning four games including the final against Bridgewater College, 6-2.
  • R-MC's Walton Breaks NCAA Doubles Mark

    Randolph-Macon junior Jordan Walton broke the NCAA single season doubles record against Shenandoah Wednesday with a double in the third inning to bring his season total to 28. The third-ranked Hornets took the weekday match up 10-4. Walton is also three hits short of setting a new ODAC single-season mark.
  • R-MC Claims ODAC Baseball Title

    r the second time in four years, Randolph-Macon Baseball captured the ODAC Championship with a 6-2 win over Bridgewater College Saturday afternoon in Lynchburg. Jordan Walton was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and tied the NCAA single season doubles record with his 27th double.

    Tyler Milstead pitched a complete-game four-hitter Friday night to lead Bridgewater to a 9-2 victory over Lynchburg College. The Eagles will now face Randolph-Macon in the championship game on Saturday at 1:00pm.

    Senior Jordan Watkins pitched eight solid innings and added a key RBI, as the Lynchburg College baseball team defeated Hampden-Sydney College 5-3 in the elimination round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament on Friday.

    R-MC reliever Dale Langford got out of a bases loaded, no out jam in the bottom of the ninth to secure the Yellow Jackets' 6-5 win over Bridgewater and a bid to the ODAC Baseball Tournament Championship game Friday in Lynchburg. Randolph-Macon Baseball will now play at 1:00 Saturday at City Stadium in Lynchburg, VA and their opponent is still to be determined.
  • R-MC Defeats LC, 9-5, in ODAC Tourney Action

    Randolph-Macon's Jordan Walton brought his season doubles total to 26 by belting three in the Yellow Jackets 9-5 ODAC Tournament win over Lynchburg Thursday night at City Stadium. Walton's 26 doubles breaks the ODAC single season record last set in 2002. The Yellow Jackets will take on Bridgewater Friday, April 22 at 11:00 am.

    Bridgewater College stayed undefeated at the ODAC Baseball Tournament with a 7-4 victory Thursday afternoon over Washington and Lee at City Stadium.
  • H-SC Tops GC 8-2 in ODAC Tourney

    After falling 8-3 in day one of the ODAC Tournament, Hampden-Sydney bounced back with an 8-2 win over Guilford. The loss is the Quakers' second and eliminates them from the tournament. H-SC will play tomorrow at 3:00 pm against an opponent yet to be determined.

    Randolph-Macon's Brian Jordan delivered a two-out single to centerfield to score Dustin Baellow from second to propel the Yellow Jackets to a 1-0 win over Washington and Lee in game three of the ODAC Baseball Tournament. The 14-inning affair is the longest in ODAC tourney history.
  • Hornets Top Quakers in 12 Innings

    Jordan Watkins’ fourth hit singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning and gave Lynchburg College a 6-5 win over Guilford College in Wednesday’s opening round of the ODAC Baseball Tournament at City Stadium. Lynchburg moves on to face Randolph-Macon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Guilford squares off with Hampden-Sydney at 11:00 a.m.
  • BC Tops H-SC in Opening Game

    Joseph Lucas pitched a complete game and his teammates pounded out 14 hits as the Bridgewater College Eagles defeated Hampden-Sydney, 8-3, in the first game of the ODAC Tournament at City Stadium. The Eagles will play Washington and Lee on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. H-SC meets Guilford at 11:00 a.m.
  • Laswell, Wooden Head Baseball Awards

    W&L pitcher Gregg Laswell and GC first baseman Kyle Wooden (pictured) head the All-ODAC Baseball awards as the pitcher and player of the year. BC's Curt Kendall was named the league's top coach, and LC pitcher James Womack was tabbed the best rookie. VWC's Pike Brynildsen earned the scholar-athlete award.

  • Big Final Day Sets Baseball Tourney

    All 10 ODAC baseball teams played their final conference regular season games on Saturday, providing plenty of action and maneuvering for the 2011 ODAC Baseball Tournament. Bridgewater College enters the postseason as the league’s top seed for the second straight season. The Eagles topped the conference with a 15-3 league mark to go with a 23-16 overall record.

  • Mason Named National Player of the Week

    Bridgewater College sophomore Jonathan Mason (Sterling, Va./Park View) has been selected as the Division III National Hitter of the Week for the week ending March 20. The weekly award is voted on by a panel of D-III members of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Mason's efforts helped BC to three ODAC wins.

  • Bridgewater Tops ODAC Baseball Poll

    Just 15 points separate the top four teams in the 2011 ODAC Baseball Poll. BC stands at the top, having secured four first place votes on the way to 90 total poll points in the annual survey of the league’s coaches. R-MC sits just two points back with 88 tallies, but it received five first place nods. VWC sits third with 80 points, and LC is fourth with 75 markers.
  • Lichter Named Preseason All-American

    Randolph-Macon senior catcher Jay Lichter was selected to the 2011 D3baseball.com Preseason All-American team as the website announced its preseason awards Wednesday. He is the only player from an ODAC school noted in the lists. Lichter was First Team All-ODAC last season as a junior after batting .433 and posting a .531 on-base percentage.
