  • Roanoke Tops Concordia to Advance in NCAA Tournament
    May 28, 2017
    Eighth-seeded Roanoke defeated fourth-seeded Concordia University Chicago 10-3 in an elimination game Sunday afternoon in game nine of the Division lll Championships. With the win, Roanoke advances to play No. 5 Washington & Jefferson at 5:30pm CDT/6:30pm EST Sunday evening in Appleton.

    Roanoke closed a historic season Sunday evening at the College World Series in Appleton, Wisconsin. The Maroons were one of four final teams in the NCAA Division lll Championships.

    Director of Athletics Jon Waters announced today that Lucas Jones ('05) will be the next Head Coach of the Lynchburg Baseball program replacing longtime head Coach Percy Abell, who retired from coaching in April to join the Lynchburg faculty full time.

  • DePhillips Compete Game Keeps Shenandoah Humming in NCAA Baseball

    No. 10/10 Shenandoah University baseball tied a program-record for wins in a season with a 4-1 elimination round victory over Lesley (Mass.) Saturday afternoon at the York Regional. Shenandoah (38-9) scored two runs in the first to give freshman Gerard DePhillips all of the support he would need. DePhillips (7-2) threw his fourth complete game of the season, striking out six, and benefitting from double play balls in the first, second and fifth innings.

Roanoke College, winner of the ODAC's automatic entrant after claiming its first league trophy last weekend, will be joined by Shenandoah University as an at-large selection to the 56-team field.

    Randolph-Macon College outfielder Cole Migliorini and Shenandoah University starter Colin Morse earned ODAC Player and ODAC Pitcher of the Year honors in a vote of the league’s head coaches, headlining the 2017 All-ODAC Baseball Awards. SU mentor Kevin Anderson picked up ODAC Coach of the Year laurels, while Virginia Wesleyan College lefty Patrick Monteverde secured ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades. Eastern Mennonite University outfielder Joe Hall was tabbed the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete by the ODAC’s sports information directors.
  • Further Changes to ODAC Baseball Tournament Due to Impending Weather

    Weather predicted for the Lynchburg-area has again for ODAC officials and tournament personnel to alter the 2017 ODAC Baseball Tournament schedule. Games slated for Friday, May 5, will now be pushed back two hours with the first game between #1 Shenandoah University and #6 Roanoke College beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET.

  • ODAC Baseball Tournament Field Announced
    April 29, 2017
    Two ties had plenty to do with the assignment of seeds in the upcoming ODAC Baseball Tournament, one of which dealt with determining the top seed in the six-team tournament field. Shenandoah University, ranked #1 in NCAA Division III by D3baseball.com/NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball, enters the tournament as the top seed via tiebreakers over second-seeded Washington and Lee University. The conference's second step, which awards points to each victory in league play, was used to sift thru the stalemate.
