MATT MORGAN, Lynchburg, Junior, Pitcher

Morgan, a junior from Bedford, Va., stepped up late in the season and captured a starting spot in the Hornets rotation. During the past week, Morgan went 2-0 with two complete games both against ODAC foes. Tuesday against R-MC, he allowed one earned run on eight hits for his second win of the season. In his second start of the week at Emory & Henry, he again finished what he started allowing two earned runs and six hits while fanning eight Wasp hitters. 

Baseball Pitcher Honor Roll

Alex Foltz, Bridgewater, Senior
Foltz pitched his third complete game of the season to lead the Eagles to a 12-2 win over Guilford. Foltz allowed just four hits and two runs, both unearned, in seven innings to pick up his sixth win of the year. He struck out eight and walked just one.

Zach Daw, Guilford, Junior
Daw fanned eight in a six-inning start against Bridgewater… walked one, yielded seven hits, three runs (1 earned) in the game.

Jason Tate, Eastern Mennonite, Junior
Tate worked his way to a complete game victory over Roanoke. Tate allowed four earned runs in seven innings to pick up his second win in six starts.  The junior transfer led EMU in wins, complete games and innings pitched while also leading the starters in ERA and opponent’s batting average.

Kyle Hicks, Randolph-Macon, Senior
Hicks allowed just three earned runs in six innings of work against Hampden-Sydney who is leading the ODAC in hitting. Kyle also struck out six batters to move into a second place tie for ODAC strikeout leader with 47.
