J.J. McDaniel, Shenandoah, So., Utility

McDaniel, a sophomore from Stafford, Va., put together a week that included the first Shenandoah cycle since 1996.  McDaniel helped the Hornets to a 5-1 week by hitting .560 (14-for-25) with five doubles, a triple, three homers, 10 runs scored and 13 runs batted in.  He also walked three times towards a .607 on-base percentage.  The nine extra-base hits pushed him to a 1.200 slugging percentage.  McDaniel had three multi-hit games, including two five-hit outings.  In the first game against Washington and Lee, McDaniel was 5-for-6 with a double, two homers and seven RBI.  He followed that up three days later by hitting for the cycle in a win over St. Joe's-Long Island.  He went 5-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, a homer, four runs scored and three RBI.  For the season, McDaniel is hitting .328 with six homers and 33 runs driven in.  He's eighth in the ODAC with a .597 slugging percentage.  He and his teammates own the third seed in the upcoming ODAC Baseball Tournament.

Baseball Player Honor Roll

Bryan Sanderson, Bridgewater (Va.) - (Jr, 2B - Lynchburg, Va., 7)
Sanderson hit safely in all four games this past week to run his hitting streak to 13 straight as he helped lead the Eagles to a 4-0 record. Sanderson hit .412 and had two doubles and three RBIs during the week. In BC's 2-1 first game win over Lynchburg, Sanderson drove in the tying run in the fifth and scored the winning run in the eighth. In the second game win over LC, he was 3-for4. His fifth-inning double tied the score at 1-1 and the Eagles went on to win the game, 3-2.

John Macon Smith, Guilford - (Jr, OF - Greensboro, N.C., 31)
Smith hit .750 with six RBI and a .800 on-base percentage in three ODAC victories that were part of the Quakers' 4-0 week. He went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI in Guilford's 21-4 win over Emory & Henry. He went 3-for-5 with two RBI in a 9-3 win over Randolph-Macon and then went 4-for-4 with a a double and two runs scored in the nightcap.  The contest marked his team-leading 19th game with 2 or more hits.  He ended the year with a season-high eight-game hitting streak.

Jeb Weymouth, Randolph-Macon  (Sr, - Rockville, VA / Hanover, 14)
Weymouth paced the Randolph-Macon offense this week going 5-for-9 with a homerun, a double, three runs batted in, two walks and a stolen base. The senior outfielder went 4-for-6 in a doubleheader against Guilford on Saturday. Weymouth's two run homerun in the sixth inning of game two pulled the Yellow Jackets within one at the time.

Brian Kluge, Roanoke - (So, LF - Roanoke, VA, 7)
Kluge hit .357 over the last three games, all conference wins for Roanoke as the Maroons' secured their first ODAC tournament bid since 2004.  Kluge collected a double and three RBI while scoring a pair of runs.  He was 3-for-5 with a double in game one of a 6-5 win over EMU.

Jonathan Stutts, Washington and Lee - (Sr, SS - Charlotte, N.C., 11)
Stutts led the Generals to a 3-2 week in the ODAC, which clinched the fourth spot in the conference tournament for W&L. He hit .524 (11-of-21) in the five games with three doubles, two home runs, nine RBI, eight runs and a steal. He recorded a .577 on-base percentage and a .952 slugging percentage. Stutts recorded a hit in every game this week, and now has a 20-game hitting streak. Stutts now leads the ODAC in slugging percentage (.712), is tied for the lead in home runs (8), second in on-base percentage (.497) and third in batting average (.408).
