James Walsh, Randolph-Macon, Sr., Pitcher

Walsh, a senior from Mechanicsville, Va., tossed eight shutout innings as the Yellow Jackets earned an 8-0 win over Bridgewater.  Walsh game up just four hits, all singles, and walked only one batter on his way to improving to 4-0 on the season.  He struck out seven batters along the way, giving him 49 punchouts in 34.1 innings of work.  He lowered his earned run average to 1.83.

Ian Mayes, Bridgewater (So.)
Mayes worked seven strong innings towards a 7-1 win over Concordia (Ill.).  He gave up one unearned run on three hits while walking three and fanning four.

Parks Smithey, Guilford (Sr.)
Smithey went the distance in a ninth-inning 2-1 loss at VWC.  He fanned nine batters in 8.2 innings of work, the most by a Quaker since 2010.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits with four strikeouts.

David Goulding, Lynchburg (So.)
Goulding worked seven innings, giving up two runs with just one earned in a 2-1 loss to Washington and Lee.  He scattered five hits and walked four while fanning three.

John Ruhlman, Roanoke (Jr.)
Ruhlman worked eight strong innings in earning a 6-2 win over sixth-ranked Shenandoah.  He gave up two runs, one earned, on four hits with six walks and six strikeouts.

Nick Ott, Virginia Wesleyan (Jr.)
Ott picked up two wins as part of four relief appearances, helping the Marlins to a 4-0 week.  He got the win in both games against Guilford, working three total shutout innings giving up just one hit and walking two.  He also worked a scoreless inning in a 5-1 win over UMW, giving up a hit, walking one and fanning one.  In a 5-0 win over Methodist, struck out two and surrendered a hit in an inning of work.

Tom Concklin, Washington and Lee (Jr.)
Concklin went the distance in defeating Lynchburg, 2-1.  He gave up one run while scattering eight hits in his nine innings of work.  he walked two and struck out five in his first career complete game.
