Sam Watson, Roanoke, So., Outfielder

Watson, a sophomore from Virginia Beach, Va., was a mainstay on the basepaths in the Maroons 4-1 week as he generated 14 runs of offense and hit .526 (10-for-19) with a pair of walks for the week. Watson reached base at least twice in each game and registered four multi-hit outings. He opened with a 2-for-4 showing with three runs driven in and a run scored in a 15-6 non-conference win over Greensboro. He had two more hits including a double with a RBI, run scored, and a walk in a 5-3 win over Emory & Henry. Watson went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in the Maroons lone setback, an 8-5 decision to Washington and Lee. He followed with a 1-for-3 effort in a 6-1 win in game two, driving in two runs and scoring once with a walk and a stolen base. He capped his week with a 2-for-4 performances with a RBI and two runs scored in an 11-2 non-conference victory over Ferrum. For the season, Watson is hitting .319 (37-for-116) with four doubles, 27 runs scored, and 21 runs driven in.

Baseball Player Weekly Honor Roll

Chris King, BC: went 7-for-16 with two homers, five RBI, and four runs scored in the Eagles 3-1 week. Went 5-for-9 with both homers, three RBI, and three runs scored in a split (6-4, 3-4) against Guilford.

Daniel Scott, EMU: hit .529 (9-for-17) with two triples, a homer, three RBI, and five runs scored in a 2-2 showing for EMU. Had three hits each in setbacks to Southern Virginia (11-5) and Shenandoah (11-10), tripling and homering with three RBI against the Hornets. Went 3-for-9 in a sweep (5-4, 2-1) of Hampden-Sydney.

Sam Gerald, GC: went 8-for-17 with two doubles, two RBI, five runs scored, and four walks in the Quakers 4-1 week. Had three hits with two runs scored and a RBI in a 14-4 win over Greensboro. Went 4-for-7 with a double and two walks in a split (4-6, 4-3) at Bridgewater.

Brady Hylton, LC: extended his hitting streak to 12 games and his games-reaching-base streak to 21 consecutive outings in four games for LC last week. Went 7-for-17 overall with two doubles, four RBI, and three runs scored.

Michael Nickles, R-MC: went 4-for-10 with three homers, six RBI, and five runs scored in a 2-1 week for R-MC. Shook off an 0-for-3 day in a 8-1 setback at H-SC with a 4-for-7 performance in a sweep at #11 Shenandoah. Homered once with three RBI and three runs scored in an 18-2 win in game one, and then smacked a pair of homers with three RBI and two runs scored in an 8-4 victory in game two.
