2019-20 ODAC Equestrian Schedule

University of Lynchburg's athletic department is proud to announce that its equestrian program has reached an agreement with Liberty University to ride from the Liberty Mountain Equestrian Center in 2020-21 and beyond.

April 14, 2019
Sweet Briar College returned to the top of the ODAC riding ranks as the Vixens claimed the team title at the ODAC Equestrian Championships on Saturday at the Bridgewater Equestrian Center. This is the third crown in the last five years for SBC's riders, joining team victories in 2015 and 2016. SBC was the runner-up each of the past two years, adding to the program's sustained level of success.

April 13, 2019
The annual ODAC Equestrian Championship heads to the Harrisonburg-area as Bridgewater College welcomes the conference's six competing schools to the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center. Bridgewater last served as championship hosts in 2014, which featured a one-point victory (17-16) for Washington and Lee over the host Eagles.

Hollins University has named Sherri West as director of the school's equestrian program and head riding coach. She will oversee all aspects of the program, including teaching classes, conducting practices, and preparing the equestrian team and individual riders for competition in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).

A long championship drought ended on Friday afternoon at the Harriet Rogers Riding Center at Sweet Briar College as Randolph College rode a stellar performance from its four-woman team to capture the 2018 ODAC Equestrian Championship title. The WildCats hoisted the league hardware for the first time since 2005 (then as Randolph-Macon Woman's College).

The annual ODAC Equestrian Championship returns to the center of the Commonwealth as Lynchburg College prepares to serve as host at the Harriet Rogers Riding Center on the campus of Sweet Briar College on March 30. Friday marks the first time the championship has been conducted at Sweet Briar since 2013.

April 6, 2017
For the third time in four years, drama featured at the ODAC Equestrian Championships with a tight finish after three classes of competition at the Kirby Riding Ring and Stables at Hollins University. The host proved the victor, collecting 17 points to deny Sweet Briar College a third straight league crown by just one point. Lynchburg College rounded out the top-three with 12 points, earning the Hornets their first out-right third-place finish since 1995.

The ODAC Equestrian Championships return to the Hollins University and the Kirby Riding Ring and Stables on Wednesday, April 5, a location at which the conference's annual event has not been conducted since 2011. Each of the ODAC's six competing programs will compete over three rounds of competition beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In the ninth installment of ODAC 40 features, we take a look back just a few years to a landmark moment in the athletic history of Randolph College. In 2014, a pair of riders became the first WildCat duo to compete at IHSA nationals, with one capturing the institution's first national championship in any sport.

The 2016 ODAC Equestrian Championships required extra action to determine a team champion on Friday afternoon at the Randolph College Riding Center, with Randolph and Sweet Briar College tied following the completion of the scheduled show format. The Vixens proved victorious in a ride-off against the WildCats, securing their second straight and fourth overall conference title.

The ODAC Equestrian Championships return to the Randolph College Riding Center for the first time since 2012 as Randolph opens its doors to the conference's six competing programs. The event, which covers three rounds of competition, is set to beging at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the 17 winter and spring sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.

Sweet Briar College put together an impressive performance at the 2015 ODAC Equestrian Championships, winning each round of scoring to secure the conference title on Thursday afternoon at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Va. The crown is the second for the Vixens in the past four years and third overall, joining the hardware they hoisted in 2012 and 1987.

A great deal of parity amongst the Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools will be showcased on Thursday, April 2 at the 2015 ODAC Equestrian Championship. The event will take place at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Va., with Washington and Lee University serving as host.

April 2, 2014
Washington and Lee University rallied from a fourth-place finish in the first class over fences Wednesday afternoon to win the next two classes and claim the 2014 ODAC Equestrian Championship held at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center. Washington and Lee finished with 17 points, edging Bridgewater by one point to claim the title. Sweet Briar placed third with 14 points.

Sweet Briar College senior Elizabeth Hansbrough has made the most of her four years as a Vixen, culminating in the College's highest honor, the Presidential Medal. She also earned the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year award for equestrian, and helped SBC to a third place showing at the 2013 ODAC Riding Championships.

Hollins University won all three rounds of competition at the 2013 ODAC Equestrian Championships on Friday afternoon, propelling HU to its ODAC-record 20th conference riding championship. The title is the third in four years for Hollins. The ODAC Rider of the Year belongs to Hollins for the fourth straight season as senior Sarah Brown recorded the highest individual average at the Sweet Briar College Riding Center.

Sweet Briar College won two of three rounds competed in the 2012 ODAC Equestrian Championships at the Randolph Riding Center on Friday afternoon, which was enough to put it atop Hollins by one point to secure the Vixens their second ODAC riding title. SBC previously won the ODAC's inaugural riding championship in 1987.

A great deal of parity amongst the Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools will be showcased on Friday, April 6 at the 2012 ODAC Equestrian Championship. The championship will take place at the Randolph College Riding Center and Lynchburg College will serve as the host of the event.

The Randolph College riding program has a new name to take over its reins. Randolph has announced the hiring of Chris Mitchell as the College’s Director of Riding. Mitchell replaces long time director JT Tallon, who won three ODAC titles while at the helm of the Randolph Riding Center. Mitchell becomes the fourth Director of Riding at the College.

Hollins University posted a 10-point victory at the 2011 ODAC Equestrian Championships on Friday afternoon, racking up 21 points on the way to winning its second straight and record 19th ODAC title at the Hollins Riding Center. HU's Emma Lane Poole recorded a 84.375 average over three disciplines to earn Rider of the Year honors.
