FOREST, Va. --- It was all about conference play in week five as four ODAC contests dotted the league scoreboard. Randolph-Macon and Washington and Lee both moved to 3-0 in conference contests, each improving to 4-1 overall. Shenandoah moved above .500 in conference games (2-1) and sits 3-1 overall. Emory & Henry leveled its ODAC and overall records to 1-1 and 2-2, respectively. Bridgewater, who was idle this weekend, remains 2-0 in ODAC contests and 4-0 overall.
This week's ODAC Offensive and Defense Players of the Week are Shenandoah quarterback Ben Agostino and Randolph-Macon linebacker Calvin Whitehead.
EMORY & HENRY 56, HAMPDEN-SYDNEY 17 | Box Score
Emory & Henry lit up the scoreboard in posting a 56-17 home win over Hampden-Sydney. The 56 points are the most the Wasps have scored in the ODAC era against the Tigers and the second-most in 76 meetings since the series began in 1922. Receiver Derrick set a new school-record for receving yards with 265 on 13 catches that included three touchdowns. The 265 yards are fifth-most in the ODAC record book. He now is E&H's career record-holder in career receiving yards (2,654) and receiving touchdowns (30). Quarterback Hunter Taylor threw for 391 yards and five touchdowns against two interceptions. He helped make up for the errant throws with a rushing touchdown to make him one of two ODAC players to be responsible for six touchdowns in a game this season. Gunner Griffith caught two TD passes, including a highlight-worthy one-handed snare. T.J. Tester ran for 84 yards and a touchdown, while Ander Sloan took his first collegiate carry for 50 yards to the end zone. Defensively, Ivan Phillips led with nine stops, while Da'von Keith stayed hot with 4.0 tackles for loss including 3.0 sacks. He leads the ODAC with 7.0 sacks. Jaylyn Kreimes, Jayden Rosenboro, and Daniel Flow intercepted passes. For Hampden-Sydney, Jordan Fields (12) and Griffin Davis (10) notched double figure tackles. Brad Jeffers and Brendan Weinberg intercepted passes. Kaleb Smith led the Tigers' offense with 51 yards rushing to go with eight catches for 62 yards and a score. Blake Page also caught a TD pass from Clay Vick.
RANDOLPH-MACON 34, GUILFORD 21 | Box Score
There was just one turnover in the contest, but it was arguably the turning point in the game as Randolph-Macon notched a 34-21 road win at Guilford. Calvin Whitehead caused the turnover as he forced a fumble inside the R-MC 10-yardline that went out of bounds in the end zone for a touchback. The Yellow Jackets turned the ensuing possession into a touchdown, completing a possible 14-point swing late in the third quarter. Eight different players carried the ball for R-MC as they tried to control the pace with a balanced effort. Tre Frederick led with 10 carries for 52 yards, while Andrew Ihle and Presley Egbers ran in scores. Egbers, in his second game under-center for R-MC, threw for 160 yards and touchdown passes to Nariq Bailey and Jordan Foster. Foster racked up 280 all-purpose yards with 125 in kick returns, 116 on punt returns, 27 receiving, and 12 rushing. Whitehead and Matthew Vergara led the defense with 11 stops each. For Guilford, quarterback Derrien Phillips made the most of his first collegiate start in throwing for 183 yards and running for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Shanaan McKoy also ran one in. Jermaine Russell led the receivers with eight catches for 88 yards. Khayree Lundy led the defense with eight tackles. J.T. Carmichael had two tackles for a loss including a sack.
WASHINGTON AND LEE 30, FERRUM 10 | Box Score
Washington and Lee limited Ferrum to just 177 total yards and 0-for-11 on third downs en route to a 30-10 road victory over the Panthers. Wide receiver Montgomery Owen led the way with a career-high seven catches for a career-best 152 yards and two touchdowns. It was the most receiving yards by a W&L player since the 2009 campaign. Running back Coby Kirkland had a touchdown of more than 75 yards for the second straight week, scoring on a 76-yard touchdown run in the contest. Alex Wertz also registered a touchdown run. Defensively, Will Corry and Kyle Wood led with five tackles, while Corry pulled in an interception. Oak Mize made 3.0 stops for a loss while forcing and recovering a fumble. For Ferrum, Joe Burris ran for 58 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Beidleman led the receivers with three catches for 44 yards. Niccolas Helvy led the defense with nine stops, while DJ Baylor recovered a fumble.
SHENANDOAH 42, SOUTHERN VIRGINIA 14 | Box Score
Shenandoah posted season-highs in points and total offense (601 yards) in defeating Southern Virginia, 42-14, on Saturday evening. Quarterback Ben Agostino had a career-day with 509 yards and six touchdowns on 36-of-44 (81.8%) passing. He is one of only two players in the ODAC to be responsible for six touchdowns in a single-game in the ODAC this season. Casey Stewart hauled in seven passes for 139 yards, while Jake Wallace made 11 grabs for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Brant Butler caught four passes for 83 yards and two more touchdowns, while Ethan Bigbee account for eight receptions for 80 yards and the remaining two scores. Defensively, Bernie Hayes and Tyler Williams led with seven tackles each. Shean Rheams forced and recovered a fumble, while Nate Hill intercepted his third pass of the season. Jordan Rice made six stops including 1.5 sacks. For Southern Virginia, Davis Pinkston threw for 178 yards and a pair of touchdown passes to Matthew Johansson. Pinkston also ran for 45 yards, while Akiva Wedge carried the ball 24 times for 84 yards. Neil Davis led the Knights' defense with 10 tackles including one for a loss.

FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Calvin Whitehead | Randolph-Macon | Sr. | Linebacker
Whitehead, a senior from Richmond, Va., put together a strong performance as the Yellow Jackets remained unbeaten in ODAC play with a 34-21 win at Guilford. Whitehead led Randolph-Macon with 11 tackles including nine solo stops. He had two tackles for a loss in that effort. Whitehead's biggest play came near the outset of the second half. With R-MC leading 17-14, Guilford had driven deep into Yellow Jacket territory. On a quarterback rush, Whitehead tracked down the Quakers' signal-caller at the 6-yard line and knocked the ball loose. The fumble went out of bounds in the end zone for a touchback. On the ensuing drive, Randolph-Macon increased its lead to 24-14 with 3:25 to go in the quarter, effectively resulting in a possible 14-point swing following the turnover. For the season, Whitehead is currently second in the ODAC with 42 total tackles and 28 solo stops. He has 4.0 tackles for a loss, an interception, and Saturday's forced fumble.

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ben Agostino | Shenandoah | Jr. | Quarterback
Agostino, a junior from Eldersburg, Md., put together a career-day in leading Shenandoah to a 42-14 win victory over Southern Virginia on Saturday evening. Agostino was efficient and explosive in going 36-of-44 (81.8%) thru the air for 509 yards and six touchdown passes without an interception. The 509 yards rank 10th all-time in ODAC history, while his six scoring strikes are tied with several players for eighth in the league record book. Both marks are ODAC single-game highs this season, along with his 36 completions. Agostino completed passes to seven different receivers and had at least one completion of 36 or more yards to five of them. He had seven total pass completions that covered more than 30 yards, including scoring passes of 40 and 38 yards to Ethan Bigbee and Brant Butler, respectively. For the season, Agostino is second in the ODAC in completions (89), completion percentage (69.0%), yards (1,093), touchdown passes (9), and passing efficiency (161.6).
