Montgomery, a sophomore from Fulton, Md., put together a
five-touchdown day in leading the Cardinals to a 38-29 win over
Guilford, which put CUA back over the .500 at 5-4 overall on the
year. Montgomery was a dual threat under center, throwing for
180 yards and four touchdowns while also leading Catholic in
rushing with 129 yards and another score on the ground.
Montgomery kicked off the game's scoring with a 4-yard
touchdown pass to Alex Evans that capped a 16-play 73-yard opening
drive. He also connected on touchdown passes with Nick
Cortese, Mike Pitsenberger and Andrew Ouellette, with the latter
covering 37-yards. He and Ouellette teamed up for 12
receptions and 117 yards. Montgomery notched the game's final
touchdown with 2:20 to play, increasing CUA's lead from three to
nine points. Montgomery has completed 62.3-percent of his
passes (114-of-183) for 1,060 yards and 12 touchdowns this
season.
