Higgins, a senior from Virginia Beach, Va., helped a lead a Panthers defense that played a big part in Ferrum's 24-23 last-second comeback victory over Shenandoah on homecoming in Ferrum. Higgins posted 10 tackles for the game with a team-best eight solo tackles. He also did well in pass defense, breaking up two passes including the final throw of the game. This marked his fourth straight game with 10 or more tackles in a contest as he ranks fifth in the ODAC with 62 total stops. He is second with 37 solo tackles. Ferrum's defense provided the platform for its comeback effort as it stiffened to allow just 10 points and took the ball away twice including an interception that setup a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter.
