  • Pustizzi Named New Field Hockey Coach at Roanoke
    May 07, 2007
    Roanoke College Director of Athletics Scott Allison has named Lacey Pustizzi the college’s new field hockey coach. Pustizzi comes to the Salem, VA school from nearby Virginia Tech University where she is currently an assistant coach with the women’s lacrosse team. Pustizzi will begin her appointment with the college immediately.
  • W&L’s Korte Named ODAC Field Hockey’s Top Player

    Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) field hockey tournament champion Lynchburg College put four players on the league’s all-star first team list, but it was Washington & Lee University that took home the top individual honor of the season. General midfielder Kendall Korte led a pair from Lexington on the All-ODAC First Team as she was named the 2006 Player of the Year.
  • LC Field Hockey Falls 1-0 at Elizabethtown in NCAA Tourney

    The Elizabethtown College field hockey team scored five minutes into the second half and held on for a 1-0 win Wednesday afternoon against Lynchburg College in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

    The 2006 NCAA Division III championships jump into action this week with six Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) schools scattered throughout the brackets. The four league tournament champions were assured of a spot in the national tournaments, but the other two squads in the fields earned at-large selections from each of their respective national sport committees.

  • Jack Named New R-MWC Head Field Hockey Coach

    The WildCat Athletic Department recently announced the hiring of Linda Jack as the new R-MWC field hockey coach. Jack will replace current head coach Clare Boyd at the conclusion of the season. A Lynchburg College graduate and the current assistant coach at Washington & Lee University, Jack has been a familiar face in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) over the past seven years.

    Virginia Wesleyan College garnered five first place votes to claim the top spot in the annual ODAC field hockey preseason coaches poll. Defending champion Washington and Lee University (three first place votes) and Lynchburg College (one first place vote) sit second and third, respectively.
