  • Bridgewater's Run Ends in Round of 16

    The Bridgewater College field hockey team saw its postseason run end in the NCAA Sweet 16, as the Eagles fell 6-0 to #6 William Smith on Saturday.
  • Eagles Continue Program Firsts, Defeat Catholic in NCAA Opening Round

    The Bridgewater College field hockey team scored twice in a span of under two minutes, carrying the Eagles past Catholic, 2-1, and into the NCAA Sweet 16. Taylor Prillaman and Madison Clement (pictured) scored the goals, with the latter's tally proving the deciding factor in defeating the 17th-ranked Cardinals.
  • LC's Simpao Honored Twice to Lead ODAC Field Hockey Awards

    Lynchburg midfielder Nicole Simpao picked up a pair of special awards as part of the All-ODAC field hockey awards, becoming the first player to earn ODAC Player of the Year and ODAC Rookie of the Year distinction since the sport began honoring the top first year player in 2000. Washington and Lee mentor Gina Wills received ODAC Coach of the Year recognition, while Shenandoah midfielder Kelani Bailey received the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award.
  • Bridgewater Enters NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament

    Fresh off winning its first ODAC field hockey championship, Bridgewater College has learned its opponent in the program's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament. The Eagles will travel to Catholic University for first round competition on Wednesday.

    Senior defender Sarah Rozell scored the winning goal and then made a defensive save late, as the Bridgewater College field hockey won its first ODAC championship, 1-0, at Washington & Lee.

  • ODAC Field Hockey Tournament Pairings Set

    Three ties separated seven teams vying for positions in the ODAC Field Hockey Tournament. Washington and Lee University enters the six-team field as the top seed for just the second time in program history. Nine-time defending league champion Lynchburg College joins W&L with a bye thru the quarterfinals as the second seed.
  • Lynchburg Slotted Fourth in First NCAA Regional Rankings

    The NCAA released it firs set of regional rankings for several NCAA Division III sports on Wednesday afternoon. That contingent included field hockey, with Lynchburg College representing the ODAC as the fourth rated squad in the South Region. Regional rankings begin roughly three weeks out from the selection of each sport's NCAA tournament field. To be eligible for an at-large bid to a NCAA Tournament, a team must be ranked regionally.

  • Lynchburg Tops ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll

    Nine-time defending conference champion Lynchburg College collected four first place votes and 46 total points to lead the ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll. The top three teams are separated by just eight total points, with Bridgewater College sitting second after earning three top nods and 42 tallies. Shenandoah University garnered 38 points including the remaining first place vote.
