  • Shenandoah Tripped Up by Rochester in NCAA First Round

    No. 15 University of Rochester advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 with a 2-0 victory over Shenandoah University Wednesday in the opening round of the 2016 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament.
  • Washington and Lee's Waxter Headlines ODAC Field Hockey Awards

    Three squads placed six players each on All-ODAC teams and the special awards were split between Shenandoah University and Washington and Lee University to highlight the 2016 All-ODAC Field Hockey Awards. Generals' forward Maggie Waxter was named the ODAC Player of the Year, while teammate Kendall Peterson earned ODAC/Virgina Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete recognition. Shenandoah mentor Ashley Smeltzer-Kraft was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, while first-year Hornet Taylor Hayes took home the ODAC Rookie of the Year award.
  • Shenandoah Enters NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament

    Shenandoah University won its first ODAC field hockey championship on Saturday evening, becoming just the second team at SU to claim a trophy since joining the conference in 2012-13. Now the Hornets know where they'll continue their season in the NCAA Division III Tournament. SU will travel to the University of Rochester for first round action on Wednesday.
  • Shenandoah Wins ODAC Field Hockey Title with Win Over Washington and Lee

    The Shenandoah University field hockey team has earned its first-ever ODAC championship with a 2-0 win over Washington and Lee Saturday night. Shenandoah (13-8) earns the league's automatic bid into the 24-team NCAA Tournament field with the win. The NCAA will announce the tournament field Sunday and first round games are scheduled for Wednesday.
  • ODAC Field Hockey Tournament Pairings Set

    A pair of ties dotted the final ODAC standings, forcing the use of two tiebreakers to complete the 2016 conference postseason field. One position clear of extra administration was the top seed, with Lynchburg College completing an 8-0 run thru league play to secure the #1 billing and hosting responsibilities for the ODAC semifinals and finals next weekend.

    Cross country's regular season ended a week ago and the remaining fall sports are gearing down towards tournament time, but that doesn't mean the performances have slowed.   • Roanoke's Holloman Named NFHCA Division III Player of the Week

    Reigning ODAC Player of the Week, Shelbi Holloman was named the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division lll Player of the Week. With the recognition, Holloman becomes the first player in the Roanoke Field Hockey program history to earn a player of the week award at the national level.

  • Washington and Lee Headlines ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll

    Washington and Lee University opens the 2016 season as the coaches' favorite to top the ODAC standings as the Generals were selected #1 in the ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll. W&L picked up six first place votes on the way to 62 total points. Lynchburg College collected 56 tallies including one first place vote, while defending conference champion Bridgewater College earned the remaining two top nods towards 48 points to round out the top three.
